February has ended, and that means FAWM is over. I didn't hit the goal of 14 songs this year, but I did have some great wins. Have a listen as you read along. Four Favourites There are 3 songs that I really like how they are taking shape. The song She Says tops the list. In fact, there's a great chance I'll be working with Ryan at Elevation Music Studio to do a full production of this song and possibly a music video as well. Next to mention is a song called You Are. This song has some great dynamics going...
A slow week on the writing front for me this week.
Over the weekend, I got quite busy on Saturday, so I didn't get to write anything. On Sunday, nothing wanted to be written, apparently not even this blog post I'm publishing a day late.
Over the first few days, I managed to get a good start towards hitting the 14 song goal.
Friday evening I did something called a "Skirmish". They're fun little challenges to write a song get the demo out in about an hour.
I've been in the studio working on the first track of my upcoming album that's early in the recording phase. I thought I would share a phone recording of me doing a take on my next track. The keyboard part won't be in the verses when it's done, that's there so I know where I am in the song while recording guitar. Stay tuned for more updates as I work all this out. This track is going to be the only cover on the album. The album doesn't have a title yet, but I'm writing songs to bring attention to mental health issues....
After a couple months of work, the new single, All That I Need is available now! A song about a deep, connected, love and happiness with someone that seems to complete your life. Sometimes the right partner is all that you need. In the tradition of rock ballads, this song blends driven electric guitar, with clean acoustic tones. Blending classic and modern music sounds to add a touch of nostalgia to a new track. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!
