I'll be honest. I've had problems coming up with things to write about since I started this website. Thankfully, February will bring me more to write about. But let's start with what I've been up to the last few months.
I have been spending a lot of time improving my skills mixing and producing music. I've been doing this to make sure I get the album I'm working on right. I've had some setbacks and gone down some wrong paths, but that's how you learn what doesn't work. Armed with this new knowledge I'm ready to get back into the album full force, but that will be in March.
February is for writing
A wonderful friend of mine introduced me to something called FAWM, which is short for February Album Writing Month. It's a challenge to write an "album" of 14 songs, or more, in 28 days. The songs don't get polished or fully produced, the idea is quantity over quality.
I invite you to follow along as I work on this challenge. I'll be making weekly updates and posting my demos of the songs to my Soundcloud page as I finish them.
March is for Making
Starting in March, I'll use the good songs from FAWM, and any existing songs I already have either started or already recorded to get working on the album full force.
I'm going to continue to do updates on the journey of making my own album, the learning and challenges along the way.
How to follow along?
You can follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Soundcloud, all the links are in the footer of the site. Youtube won't be updated during FAWM, but feel free to subscribe there too. You can also sign up for the newsletter. Get updates when blog posts come out, or when I have big news.
